The center will hold HarvestFest from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3 at the Fairfield County Hunt Club in Westport.
“October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and we are celebrating the community collaborations DVCC enjoys in raising awareness of domestic violence throughout lower Fairfield County," said Kevin Shippy, DVCC executive director. "The event is a culmination of the center's events that will take place throughout the month of October in the seven neighboring towns we serve.”
The center receives tremendous support from the community, government officials and law enforcement including everyone from Westport First Selectman Jim Marpe’s office, to the Westport Police Department's Domestic Violence Task Force lead by co-chairs Lt. Jillian Cabana and Elizabeth Marks Juviler, said Boardie Kurz, the center's new development director.
“DVCC is grateful for the support of Cohen and Wolf P.C., and Corporate Benefit Enterprises in their significant role as corporate sponsors," Kurz added.
The event, dubbed “Neighbors helping Neighbors,” will feature plenty of bountiful fall harvest fare, signature seasonal cocktails, and some auction items, along with live music.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the client services and the preventive education program the center offers in area schools.
